In nineteenth-century Syed Muhammad Shah has worked as Professional Surveyor in British Government always wished to raise his only son Syed Alam Shah to become Architect. His dreams come true in 1946 and his son joins the British Government as Assistant Architect by qualifying from the local institution in Delhi.
Soon after the partition Alam Shah migrated to Pakistan and joined Pakistan Public Works Department and retired as Chief Architect of the Department in 1980 with honors including “Tamgha-e-Pakistan” awarded by President of Pakistan.
Alam Shah’s, love for professional development and education earned him an associateship of Royal Institute of British Architects “RIBA” and Australian Institute of Architect “AIA” along with the Founder Member and Principal of the school of Architecture later become part of Dawood College of Engineering & Technology.
